外型特征：　       
美丽且特别，并根据不同产地及生活习性而有所不同，一般来说背甲都呈深啡色而两侧为黄色；头部是黄色至浅青色，两侧带有深色斑纹，下巴和喉部则是黄色至奶油色；四肢和尾部则由啡黄色至灰色不等。前脚前方表面有较大的鳞片覆盖，趾间有半蹼。

原居地：
越南北部的东京海湾和安南
中国的云南、广西及海南岛

半水栖性 ( 偏陆栖性 ) ／ 群居；居于森林内的水源附近、灌木丛。

这是我最喜欢的国产龟，但图中这几只的花纹不太好看！

性情：               
胆小／有地盘意识；野外捕获的一般都较为害羞 ( 尤其是 C. g. picturata ) ，和其它盒龟一样，当受惊时会把头尾及四肢缩进壳内，然后把壳紧紧合上，抵御敌人。也有颇强烈地盘意识，可能会攻击其它邻近的龟。

食物：
杂食偏肉食
有时会吃蔬果，但最爱吃的还是动物性饲料如蟋蟀、蚯蚓和乳鼠。间中可喂盒龟粮

饲养环境：
属半水栖型龟类，饲养环境要布置成水陆两便式，水深不得高于其背甲高度的2／3，或龟在水中不漂浮为宜。少量饲养可将龟置于浅水（5厘米深的水位）中，优点无臭味、易消毒及清洗。

饲养管理：
黄额盒龟仅分布于热带地区，对环境温度要求较高，适应能力差，环境改变，龟一般不进食。家庭饲养首先需要保温，保温尽量与龟产地的气温相差不大，三四天后进行诱食，以蝗虫、鱼肉、虾肉、猪肉为主，诱食时要有耐心，切忌使龟受惊。

黄额盒龟在人工饲养条件下，温度在17C左右，开始逐渐不食，22℃左右少量进食、爬动，28℃是最佳进食温度。因此，日常管理好坏，温度是个掌握的关键。日常投喂肉类、小昆9虫类，辅以苹果、香蕉（有些龟以西红柿、香蕉等为主食）。在饲养期间；尤其要注意温度的突然变化，特别是季节交换之际，一般温度不得相差5℃以上，否则易患疾病。病龟喜缩头，怕动，甲壳关闭，粪便稀软或呈粘液状。一旦发现病龟，应隔离加温喂养，温度控制在25°C以上，并喂些抗生素类药物。

饲养难度：比较难养，适合有足够知识有经验的玩家。
